Do it all
or nothing at all... The Commonwealth of Dominica rises to nearly 5,000 feet in the center of the chain of Caribbean islands. Archeologically, it is the most recently formed island, a mere 40 million years ago. This energy of birth is no more evident than in her lush interior where every thing grows to giant proportions. Anthurium Lilies like waxed replicas and Baliziers' tongues of flames hang against a backdrop of broad glistening leaves. The jewel in her crown is the Morne Trios Pitons World Heritage Site within which lies the Boiling Lake, The Freshwater Lakes, numerous waterfalls and countless Rivers. An exciting addition to Dominica’s amazing natural attractions is the Waitukubuli National Trail. Initially conceived to trace the tracks and paths of Dominica’s indigenous Caribs and Negres Marons (Runaway Slave), it links various communities over approximately 184kms/ 115 mile, traversing the length of Dominica offering hikers of all levels a challenge, whether you wish to do the whole trail in 7 – 14 days or whether you are interested in just one or two days. The trail is made up of 14 segments starting from Scottshead in the South to the Cabrits in the North of Dominica. The Trail showcases the best of Dominica – culture / heritage, local lifestyles, and our island’s rugged terrain and wild nature – rivers, waterfalls, mountains, exotic gorges and rainforests.
